Panama March 2027

Tours & Island Escapes

If you can extend your trip, even by a few days, Panama rewards you tenfold. These are the places we love most, the places we hope you’ll get to see, and the ones we may organise group trips to before and after the wedding.

San Blas (Guna Yala)

365 tiny Caribbean islands belonging to the indigenous Guna people. Crystal water, white sand, palm trees, hammocks. Most trips are 2–4 days, sailing or staying in simple over-water cabins. There’s no internet — and that’s the point. One of the most magical places in the world.

Best for: anyone who has ever pinned a Caribbean dream beach on Pinterest. Honeymooners. Friend groups. Families.

Bocas del Toro

Where our story began. A Caribbean archipelago on the Atlantic side of Panama – jungle, reef, surf, rainbow houses on stilts above the sea. Multiple islands to hop between, snorkelling with starfish, sloths in the trees, and a relaxed island rhythm we both fell in love with.

Best for: 3–5 days. Easy short flight from Panama City.

Boquete (Highlands)

Cool mountain town in the Chiriquí province — coffee farms, cloud forest, waterfalls, hot springs, and the chance to see the famous Quetzal bird. A complete change of climate from the coast.

Best for: 2–3 days. Coffee lovers, hikers, anyone who wants a break from the heat.

El Valle de Antón

A small town built inside the crater of an extinct volcano, about 2 hours from Panama City. Cool air, hikes, hot springs, and a charming Sunday market. Perfect for a quick weekend extension.

Suggested extensions
  • 5-7 days: Panama City + San Blas OR Bocas del Toro.
  • 7-14 extra days: Panama City + San Blas + Bocas del Toro.

14-20 days and more: Panama City + San Blas + Bocas del Toro + Boquete (or El Valle).
